Terms of Delivery

The products in the online store are sold by the City of Vaasa (business ID 0209602-6).

Registration and Personal Data

Ordering from the online store does not require registration. By registering, you can make your future purchases faster and view your previous orders. The username is the email address provided during registration, and the password is set by the Customer during registration. The username and password are personal. The Customer is responsible for keeping their username and password safe and ensuring they are not disclosed to third parties. The Customer is responsible for all use under their username and password and for any costs or charges that may arise from such use.

The Customer must provide the necessary information required for the use of the service in the online store. The City of Vaasa has the right to process the Customer's personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act and other legislation. The Customer's information is stored in the online store's customer register. The City of Vaasa does not disclose the Customer's information to third parties without the Customer's explicit consent. The Customer has the legal right to prohibit the processing of their personal data for direct advertising, distance selling, or other direct marketing, as well as for market and opinion research, personal directories, and genealogical research.

Ordering

Products are mainly ordered via the internet at market.vaasa.fi through the shopping cart. All orders are confirmed by email, stating the price and the ordered products. To receive an order confirmation, you must provide an email address when ordering. The Customer agrees to the current terms of use and delivery of the online store and any special terms related to the ordered product with each order.

Payment Methods

Products are paid for at the time of ordering. Online payments are made via a secure connection through the Suomi.fi/Paytrail service. The service includes online banking and card payment services of Finnish banks.

Prices and VAT

The valid price for orders made in the online store is the one shown in the price list at the time of ordering. Online store prices may differ from prices at other sales points. The right to change prices is reserved. All prices are shown in euros (EUR). Product prices in the online store include the applicable value-added tax (VAT).

Cancellation Terms for Registrations

Registration is binding. The order must be canceled in writing. The general cancellation term is one week, meaning the written cancellation notice (e.g., by email) must be received no later than one week before the activity starts. Please check for any product-specific exceptions. The cancellation is valid once we have acknowledged it. If the minimum number of participants for camps, courses, or similar products is not met and the activity is canceled, we will notify the Customer using the contact information provided with the order. The minimum number of participants is product-specific.

Service Maintenance, Availability, and Errors

The City of Vaasa strives to ensure the online store operates without errors or interruptions. The City of Vaasa has the right to suspend the online store for changes, updates, technical reasons, or for maintenance, installation, or repair work on the telecommunications network, or if required by law or other authority. Interruptions will be scheduled to minimize inconvenience to the Customer.

The City of Vaasa is not responsible for errors caused by interruptions or faults in third-party telecommunications or related services. The City of Vaasa is also not responsible for errors resulting from the Customer using the online store contrary to instructions or regulations, or for errors otherwise caused by the Customer.

Data Security

The online store is protected using SSL protocol. The Customer is responsible for the proper security of their own information systems. The City of Vaasa keeps all customer-related or customer-submitted information confidential. The City of Vaasa organizes the data security of its online store in a generally accepted and effective manner and strives to prevent unauthorized access to its systems with appropriate technical solutions.

Devices, Software, and Connections

The Customer is responsible for acquiring, operating, and paying for the devices, software, and internet connections required to use the online store. These must not cause interference or other harm to the online store or other network users.

Liability for Damages

The City of Vaasa is liable to the Customer only for direct damages it has negligently caused by breaching the agreement. If it can be shown that the error was caused by the City of Vaasa, the Customer may be reimbursed for any unjustified costs charged in the online store.

The City of Vaasa is not obliged to pay compensation or other direct or indirect damages or reimbursements resulting from the interruptions or errors mentioned in section 6.

Force Majeure

A force majeure event releases the City of Vaasa from its online store obligations if it prevents or unreasonably hinders the performance of the online store. Force majeure includes fire, earthquake, flood, explosion, strike or other labor dispute, official order, disruptions in energy supply, shortage of raw materials or supplies, external or externally caused cable or other telecommunications disruption, or other similar reason that was not known and could not reasonably have been anticipated. The City of Vaasa will announce a force majeure event on the online store's website as soon as possible after it occurs, if possible.

Changes to Terms of Use and Delivery

The City of Vaasa is entitled to change these terms of use and delivery for the online store by announcing the changes in the online store well in advance before they take effect.

Dispute Resolution

Disputes concerning this agreement will be resolved in the Ostrobothnia District Court under Finnish law.
